The countryside in Zug is made up of a variety of landscapes and altitudes ranging from 400 to 1,200 meters. Just as varied as the landscapes are also the traditional types of landscaping around houses – artful fenced-in farmhouse gardens are more numerous and luxuriant on the plain, and in the mountainous regions meadows in many places extend right up to the base walls of the buildings.
A guide from the Canton of Zug, Bauen in der Landschaft [building in the countryside], which Ganz Landscape Architects drew up together with an advisory group of experts under the auspices of the des Office for Spatial Planning of the Canton of Zug, is now available. The guide deals with design aspects of building in the countryside and goes into the types of buildings and landscaping design in depth.
