Tobelhof is a picturesque hamlet in the middle of lush green meadows and orchards. The exposed location provides far-reaching views of the Glatt Valley and the Säntis, the highest mountain in the Alpstein region. The exterior appearance of the farmstead is still clearly marked by its once dual use as a restaurant and a working farm. Today, as a historical site worthy of protection and conservation, Tobelhof is a popular destination for outings with its two restaurants, «Alter Tobelhof» and «Chäsalp».
Tobelhof is re-embedded in the surroundings by extending the meadows up to the facades and by laying in entrances of minimal dimensions. The orchards are expanded according to historical records and extend up to the Alter Tobelhof, so that patrons at the restaurant can once again be seated under fruit trees.
The view is opened up anew, allowing people to experience the special location on the crest of the hill.
