Schanzenberg and its grounds has a divided appearance as a result of its two different use phases, first as a burgher residence and then as a school building. It thus presents very legibly the process of its conversion over the course of time.
Of historical importance here are both the traces of the modifications for school operation and the modifications from the phases of industrial use and burgher residence.
